Overeaters Anonymous Region 5 Convention “Time for Recovery”

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 27, 2009 -- Overeaters Anonymous Region 5 Convention “Time for Recovery” will be held at the Oak Brook Hills Marriot Resort 3500 Midwest Road Oak Brook, IL (outside Chicago) October 16-18, 2009. Registration opens Friday at 4:00pm and reopens Saturday at 8:00 am.

Overeaters Anonymous is not a diet club. There are no dues, fees or weigh-ins. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop eating compulsively.

Founded in 1960 with three members, OA views compulsive overeating as a physical, emotional and spiritual disease that can be arrested but not cured. Members seek recovery on all three levels by following a twelve-step program patterned after that of Alcoholics Anonymous.

The OA Region 5 Convention offers an excellent opportunity for fellowship. Some of the exciting activities at the convention will include the fourth step workshop, big book study, ongoing step study, and free clothing swap.
