West Palm Beach, Florida, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) August 29, 2011 -- On August 27th, 220 runners participated in The King’s Academy’s third annual Lion Run 5K Off-Road held on the school’s 60-acre West Palm Beach campus. The Lion Run event is family friendly and includes a Kids’ Run where every participant receives a medal as well as a multi-surface 5K course that appeals to both novice and experienced runners. The King’s Academy’s USATF certified course will also host the second annual King’s Academy Cross Country Invitational on September 10, 2011.

Awards were presented to first place overall male and female winners, Scott Simpson of The King’s Academy (17:09.3) and Michelle Howell of Seminole Ridge High School (21:01.8). Amy Triggs of West Palm Beach (21:58.8) and Chris English of Lake Worth (19:17.6) were the first place winners in the master’s division.

The Kids’ Fun Run was won by King’s third grader Michael Kolkana Smith (2:06.4) with Colton McDonald and Jamie Howell finishing second and third. Supported by title sponsor, Braman Honda of Palm Beach, proceeds from the Run benefit The King’s Academy’s Annual Fund.
