OWNER OF WOMENS SPORTING APPAREL RETAILER TO SPEAK AT PORTLAND STATE UNIVERSITY

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 31, 2012 -- PORTLAND, Ore. – Diana Marsden, owner of Aries Apparel, specialty female athletic apparel, equipment and accessories retailer in Hillsboro, will participate in the 26th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) at Portland State University Thursday, February 2, 2012; this year’s event recognizes the 40th anniversary of Title IX. Marsden will be part of the NGWSD speaker panel discussion from 4:30 – 6:45 p.m. in the Academic and Student Rec Center on the PSU campus.

At part of NGWSD, more than 1,000 events will take place throughout the country this week to recognize the progress of girls and women in sports and the benefits that sports and fitness activities can bring to the lives of all girls and women. Responding to a demand for women’s apparel and sporting goods, Marsden founded Aries Apparel in June 2008.

“When planning Aries Apparel I wanted to create a special place, something different than everything out there that would provide everything women and girls needs to participate in sports at any time during the year,” said Marsden.

Other panel members include PSU women’s head basketball coach Sherri Murrell and 2006 women’s ice hockey Olympic bronze medal-winner Kelly Tysland. The event will also feature free food, raffle prizes, basketball tickets and other giveaways!

In January Aries Apparel launched the Winners Circle program inviting women of all shapes and sizes to participate in a clothing exchange program and helping women feel great throughout their weight loss journeys.
