FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Connaught Place, Delhi, India, Republic of (Free-Press-Release.com) August 27, 2010 -- It is by no means certain that Pakistan can control the Islamist forces that have been unleashed as a result of its Army having nurtured them over the years, says the Indian Military Review.

In the August 2010 issue of IMR, Maj Gen RK Arora says that Pakistan itself is being targeted by the forces spawned by the Pakistan Army. Terrorist links to Pakistan have been found after incidents all over the world. India was the only country that tried to alert the world about the global terrorist threat emanating from Pakistan but the alert fell on deaf ears.

The magazine says in its lead article that the failure of US strategy in Afghanistan is likely to result in the Taliban controlling large areas of Pashtun speaking populace. It would be a challenge to ensure that the rest of the country remains free of jihadi extremism. Likewise, in the case of failure of Pakistan as a state, it would be a challenge to ensure that the country is not fragmented.

Lawlessness in Pakistan will lead to a spill into India forcing it to exert its role and responsibility as a regional power, says the author.
