The 23rd Annual Palos Verdes Street Fair and Music Festival, presented by Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance, takes place Saturday, June 12 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Located at Crossfield Drive and Silver Spur Road in the Rolling Hills Estates business district, the Fair is the biggest event on the Palos Verdes Peninsula and one of the most popular in the South Bay.
With more than 200 arts and crafts booths, carnival rides for all ages, continuous live entertainment on two stages, an International Food Court and Beer Garden, a children’s petting zoo and train rides, the Fair promises to be loads of fun for everyone. Carnival rides will include a Ferris wheel, bumper cars, twister and other big rides for teens and adults, as well as smaller rides for children. All-day carnival ride wristbands cost $25. Games and other attractions excluded. “Healthy Lifestyles” features the “Ask a Doc” booth, bloodmobile, Healthy Kids Van, blood pressure checks and First Aid courtesy of Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance.
“Tribute bands” will again bring back the sounds of the Beatles, Steely Dan, pop, country, Latin, jazz and rock groups. Sunday Jazz Festival performers feature legendary jazz pianist, Paul Smith, Mark Fitchett and Friends and exciting high school jazz groups. The Fair is a Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce “green” event. More than 40,000 fair-goers can learn about eco-friendly goods from vendors on “Green Street”.
Proceeds from the Fair support student and educational scholarships, free “business success” seminars and environmental groups.
