Partners Marketing Group Positions Chemical Company for the Future

Partners Marketing Group was hired to rebrand a 29-year old chemical manufacturer based in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Founded in 1980, Siovation (formerly Taylor Chemical Company) had rapidly expanded their services and capabilities to meet the diverse needs of their expanding client base. They grew away from commoditized chemical manufacturing and became a highly-technical solutions specialist that partnered with clients to solve unique challenges with silicone-based chemical products. As the company advanced, the executive management team decided that their corporate name and identity needed to mature, as well, matching the level of service, expertise and problem solving they were providing to clients across various industries.

Taylor Chemical was an established business with nearly three decades of brand equity. The first challenge was creating a name that was both respectful of the company’s history and representative of the dynamic business they had become.

“Our goal was to rebrand in name and mission,” said Bernie Cobb, president. “Previously our firm’s mission was solely to satisfy customers and provide on-time delivery. We needed to showcase the technical capabilities and products we had developed over the years while positioning ourselves as a partner that works with customers to solve their silicon challenges. Partners helped us accomplish that.”

Next, a new identity and marketing materials would be needed: starting with a new logo, Partners Marketing Group would develop an identity system, brochure, website and other materials to consistently convey the company’s new face to both existing clients and new prospects. The website would also require custom software to manage secure documents and track visitors who had accessed different levels of site content.

Partners Marketing Group collaborated with Taylor’s executive team to create a name that incorporated the company’s past history, current values and future potential. The result of that collaboration was “Siovation”—the combination of “Sio,” the silicone-oxygen bond common to all their chemical products, and “vation,” a truncated form of innovation. Siovation has received a very positive response from its customers on their new name, marketing materials and website.

“Would we use them again? Absolutely yes,” said Cobb. “We wanted a local firm that could offer a turn-key solution and Partners Marketing Group was every bit of that.”
