Pat O'Brien discovers amazing talent at the California Tropic Pageant

They have a few decades of experience and expertise in the pageant world and it shows in their production. Heather, one of their staff members invited Pat O'Brien in 2009 to come be a part of their events. Pat was finally at the event judging this past weekend. Also Judging with Pat was actor Anwar Shariff who was on the VH1 Reality TV Show "Kept" with Jerry Hall (Ex Mrs. Mick Jagger), and also ABC Family Channel season premier of "Lincoln Heights".

The three day pageant was lots of work for the judges, but a walk in the park for the amazing staff of California Tropics. The competition among the talent was incredible and the attitudes and excitement of the families present was nothing but upbeat. Usually at pageants there seems to be some rivalry or bitterness with some contestants, however the entire group was super supportive and everyone was a winner at this event.

Pat O'Brien went there to find some new talent for either management or production with some of his new TV shows and films, but actually found a "super star singer" in the process named Makenna Hyland. During the talent portion of the weekend, Makenna sang a Taylor Swift song on stage that made you think you were watching Taylor herself at 8 years of age. She has been working with a voice coach for a month or so and has dreamed of singing for quite a while. With a big surprise a the event, Pat O'Brien offered to mange and produce Makenna Hyland. Pat offered Makenna and her mom a 3 year contract and a "4 song recording deal" with one of LA's TOP Music Producer/Mixer. His aim is to produce a 4 song album to debut on Itunes within the year and hopefully impress the world with Makenna too!
