Paul McIlwain and Linda McIlwain Launch New Website

The website is a collaboration between Paul and Linda as they pursue and share their major areas of interest – travel writing and handcrafted art. Gullyandroad.com chronicles their life on the road and their life at home in Wallaby Gully, Australia.

Paul is a freelance travel writer and photographer, specializing in the cultures and ideologies of peoples in far-flung regions of the globe. As a journalist with the ITWPA (International Travel Writers and Photographers Association) he reviews hotels, guesthouses, transportation and travel choices to give helpful advice to other travelers who like to explore interesting places. Paul McIlwain, as a seasoned writer, has a deep personal interest in worldviews, cultures and languages and enjoys exploring and traveling in out of the way places and capturing the experience in words and pictures. Paul McIlwain says “When people meet and engage with someone who has a different culture and worldview it ultimately enriches their understanding of their own culture, and inevitably of the world at large ”. Linda McIlwain is an artist, working in glass and employing various techniques including leadlight, glass mosaic and copper foil. Her handcrafted artworks are inspired by nature and by the various cultures and landscapes that she and Paul encounter on their travels.
