Pay What You Want For Haircuts at The Salon at Westchester in Scarsdale

Creative Director at The Salon at Westchester said when people think of Westchester, they think of well-to-do millionaires who waste their money on luxuries. “While this may have been true in the past, people in our area are really hurting,” she said.

“Every day people come into the salon and tell me about how they, a friend or husband were laid off, or how they’ve been unable to find a job after months of looking. It really hurts me to see so many loyal clients and friends down on their luck.

Errico said the recent holidays were particularly hard on my clients. “A few said they were cutting back on presents for their kids which is understandable, but one client said she would lose her house because both she and her husband had been without income for over six months.
While many say that they unemployed should cut back. Cutting back on hair services is not an option, according to Errico.

“The fact of the matter is that most employers do care what their staff look like, and few will hire people who do not keep up their appearances,” Errico said. Since quality hair care is expensive, I realized that this was an area where we could help.”

Effective immediately, The Salon at Westchester has declared every Wednesday Pay What You Can Haircut Day, where people in need of a haircut can pay any amount for their haircut without feeling guilty.

“We thought about offering free haircuts, but quickly realized that most Westchester residents need a helping hand, not a handout. People wishing to take advantage of this offer should simply turn up at The Salon 794 Post Road between 9am and 2pm on Wednesday on a first come, first served basis. Color is available at reduced rates.
