Payment Processing Agent Intrix Technology, Inc. Elects Jorge Fernandes to Board of Directors

(Intrix), a technology provider in the electronic payment processing marketplace, today announced the appointment of Jorge Fernandes to the company’s Board of Directors. Fernandes brings more than 20 years of electronic payments process and entrepreneurship experience to the position and currently serves as CEO of MOBIbucks, the leading provider of cardless mobile payment and marketing solutions.

“As a leader in the nascent mobile payment market for much of his career, Jorge has a substantial wealth of experience and attributes that will enable him to make an immediate impact as part of the Intrix Board,” said Jeff Connors, CEO of Intrix.

Fernandes co-founded MOBIbucks, Inc. in 2008. Previously, Fernandes was the founder, CEO and chairman of VivoTech Inc., the company behind the near field communications, or NFC-based payment products, that are expected to make their way into next-gen smart phones. It was Fernandes who conceived and demonstrated the initial products for PayPass and NFC. Prior to VivoTech, Fernandes was president and founder of EmployeeLife (NASDAQ-ICGE), BioLumin (NASDAQ-MDYN), and LaserTron (NASDAQ-LZTN). He has authored over a dozen patents in the areas of payment technology, software algorithms, robotics, digital feedback, and laser systems.
