FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Trumbull, Connecticut, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) August 31, 2011 -- Trumbull, CT- With many of the communities surrounding PCNet, Inc. finding themselves still without electricity and communications services, the PCNet Trumbull Datacenter is running and operational. Many PCNet clients have invoked their business continuity plans and now are running production services of their mission critical systems from the PCNet, Inc. Datacenter.

The force of Hurricane Irene caused a loss of utility power to the data center at 4:18 AM on August 28th. At this time all datacenter services were successfully transferred to generator power. This transfer was completed with no interruption in service for the PCNet datacenter clients. Additionally, the PCNet datacenter provides its clients multiple Tier 1 telecommunications carriers in a BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) configuration allowing one carrier to failover to another without any loss in bandwidth services. All telecommunications and Internet services supporting the datacenter were unaffected by the storm.

"Hurricane Irene provided the PCNet Trumbull Data Center with a major stress test. During the storm, the systems demonstrated the quality of our state of the art data center design by maintaining all operations." stated Camilo Soto CEO of PCNet, Inc. "All of the major infrastructure systems supported our customer's critical business applications without any disruption in service. This outcome of this recent event will give our customers assurances and comfort in maintaining their systems within our premier data center."

Those services subscribers to PCNet's colocation and Vmware powered pcnCloud services remained in an operational and functioning state throughout the storm event. Many subscribers to the pcnRecovery data backup and business continuity service had to invoke their individual plans and failover services to the PCNet datacenter. These clients were quickly able to restore data services to their operations and support their employees and clients even without power and electricity at their individual business locations.

"An event like this week's storm can be a stressful time for many organizations causing a lot of doubt and uncertainty. Without access to critical systems companies have more than revenue at risk, it is also their reputation." said Brian Doyle, VP of IT and Datacenter Services "It is PCNet's responsibility to our clients to remove those IT concerns and let their focus be on serving their clients and the health and safety of their employees."

Utility power returned to PCNet on Monday afternoon (August 29) at approximately 1 PM at which the system load was transferred successfully from the generator back to street power.
