Pegasus Client Services Comments On School League Tables
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 10, 2012 --
The two English grammar schools at the top of this year’s secondary school league tables are no strangers to the position. The Lawrence Sheriff School in Rugby, Warwickshire, has the highest point score for GCSEs for the second year in a row and the Colchester Royal Grammar School in Essex tops the table for A-levels for the sixth year running. A source from Pegasus Client Services, an innovative and highly driven sales and marketing company from Chelmsford, said the results were ‘inspiring’ and went on to say: “It’s a great example of how motivation and hard work can pay off.”
The tables are England’s yearly marker of how schools perform in a range of different areas of academic ability. One main source of performance data is how many pupils get at least five GCSEs of at least a C grade, but a range of other data is included, and this year the government has included a considerable amount more data than in previous years.
Josh Peace, Managing Director of Pegasus said: “Education is so important for the modern entrepreneur. Secondary school equips our youth with the tools they will need for success in later life, and for a local school to be achieving so highly is a really great sign for the future of local businesses.”
For the sixth year in the row, the Colchester Royal Grammar School has performed best in terms of A-Level results, averaging the equivalent of more than four A*s and one A per pupil at A-Level. Headmaster Ken Jenkinson said: “We concentrate on individual students and think if we help them achieve their potential, it will also lead to a good league table position.” Part of the schools ethos is that students enjoy education and therefore want to do the best they can in whatever they do.
“It’s a partnership,” Mr. Jenkinson insists, and he makes sure that students are “encouraged and supported by talented teachers.” Josh Peace from Pegasus had this to say: “A proper approach to education is key in allowing our children access to all the opportunities available to them in future life. Quality is so important, and students really benefit from having teachers who can motivate them and help them reach their full potential.”
