Pegasus Ventures Announces All Its Register Rolls are BPA Free

(Free-Press-Release.com) April 2, 2011 -- Pegasus Ventures, a leading online supplier of foodservice products, has announced that as of April 1, 2011 all of its thermal register rolls are 100% BPA free.

Pegasus Ventures began the process of transitioning to a BPA free thermal paper back in 2008, and through the coordinated execution of its suppliers recently concluded the transition according to Pegasus Ventures Vice President, Randy Dewey

“We’ve been working with our suppliers to achieve this goal and we’re proud to be able to offer exclusively BPA-free thermal paper,” Dewey said. “While we are confident that our products have always been safe, we are also aware of the public’s concern and desire for a BPA-free solution.”

The Bisphenol-A (BPA) chemical is a common organic compound used as the developing agent in thermal receipt paper and also to make plastics and most of the epoxy resins that line the inside of beverage cans. The issue with the BPA in thermal paper is that it can transfer onto skin where small amounts can be absorbed into the body or to be transferred onto food.

Recent scientific review from research organizations, including the World Health Organization, have drawn conflicting conclusions regarding the actual danger posed to humans by the existence of BPA thermal receipts. But regardless of which conclusion proves to be accurate, Pegasus Venture's stance on BPA has been consistently firm.

“Numerous media outlets and research organizations will undoubtedly continue to debate whether BPA in thermal paper poses an imminent danger to humans,” Dewey said. “But we firmly believe that our customers deserve high quality, reliably safe products free from this debate.”

Pegasus Ventures, which also sells the original restaurant GuestCheck™, has sold thermal register rolls for more than 6years and in that time is unaware of any employee or end-user health issue associated with thermal paper usage.
