HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Dec. 21, 2009 – Fitness Together Franchise Corporation, the world's largest business that focuses exclusively on personal training, has awarded a Master Franchisee Agreement to open Fitness Together studios in Brazil. It marks the sixth country for the growing franchise network.
Entrepreneur Antonio Cassiano Ximenes, of Fortaleza, Brazil, purchased the Master Franchisee rights with plans to open as many as 60 Fitness Together studios throughout Brazil over the next five years. Ximenes has already sold five franchise agreements.
The first Fitness Together location is targeted to open in Sao Paulo in January of 2010, and will introduce clients to a new approach for exercising. Offering fully-equipped private training rooms, personal attention, fitness assessments, customized workouts and nutritional information, Fitness Together follows a 1 client, 1 trainer, 1 goal focus and motivates clients to stick to their fitness objectives.
And to help get him started, Kevin Betts, chief operating officer and senior vice president of Fitness Together, recently spent 10 days in Sao Paulo training the Master Franchisee and other staff who will be working at Fitness Together locations in Brazil. The training sessions addressed how to open studios, how to hold a franchise university to train franchisees and other operational procedures.
Ximenes is targeting areas with populations of high household incomes and an interest in health and wellness to establish additional Fitness Together locations.
"Antonio has a fantastic track record for taking brands and making them retail and service leaders in Brazil," said Betts. "That means he already knows the how to target the ideal Fitness Together client, and he is about to introduce a huge affluent audience to the best one-on-one personal training fitness franchise in the world."
Among his business interests, Ximenes established the Westfall men's clothing store chain, which he has grown to multiple locations to be the exclusive dealer of Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss in Fortaleza. He also owns the master license for a ladies-only fitness franchise that has awarded 94 franchise agreements and opened 66 locations over the last five years to become the second largest fitness chain in the Brazil.
"Every business I own is a reflection of my passion for introducing the best products and services to the people of Brazil," Ximenes said. "That is why Fitness Together will make an immediate impact for the men and women in my country who seek the personalized service, attention and results that a one-on-one workout regimen with a professional trainer will provide."
Ximenes brings both real-world business experience and an extensive higher education to his latest endeavor. He grew up in a family-business that became the largest local chain of supermarkets in Fortaleza which was sold in 2007.
