During a bed bug inspection in December we came across this book on the lower shelf of a nightstand in the master bedroom. The infestation in this particular room was quite high and as a result Bed Bugs were living in this book. You can see the black droppings on the pages and a cluster of bed bugs along the spine of the book. This type of activity in much more common in hard cover books but it can occur in soft cover books as well. Bed bugs can hide anywhere, generally they are lazy and will be found close to the bed. A book shelf in a bedroom located away from the bed is not likely to contain a large population of bed bugs. This book was sitting on the bottom shelf of a nightstand and had not been read for some time.
