FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 3, 2010 --
You don’t need to look far to see that every day, in some small way, life reminds us about the importance of heartfelt thanks and how invaluable a meaningful display of gratitude can be. The selfless sacrifices of military personnel, stateside and abroad, certainly don’t go unnoticed, but offering thanks to individuals who willingly risk their life to protect their country can present a unique challenge. After all, how can you repay someone willing to make the greatest sacrifice a person can make? The Professional Golfers Career College is thrilled to announce that it may have found a way.
PGCC recently found an opportunity to give back to the military community in a unique fashion, joining forces with The Wounded Warrior Project and the Tee It Up Radio Network, they are providing three new students with a full-ride scholarship to attend PGCC, one student at each of the three campuses.
Eric McCarty will be attending the Orlando campus for the upcoming Spring semester, which begins in January. Eric will be followed closely by Michael Proscia at the Hilton Head campus and David Hillary at PGCC in Temecula, California. Proscia and Hillary will be attending in May 2010, after they have been fully discharged from active duty, and have had an opportunity to acclimate to life as Veterans.
The Wounded Warrior Project is a non-profit organization that focuses largely on raising awareness surrounding the needs of severely injured service men and women. In addition to calling attention to this critical issue, The WWP facilitates the distribution of aid from the public in various different forms, including programs and services that help troops adjust to life after sustaining tremendous physical trauma. Rehabilitation can be a painful challenge, and so can the process of reshaping your identity but it is a challenge that these soon-to-be students are rising to.
The three soldiers received their scholarships at 4th Annual Tee-It-Up Radio Network’s Celebrity Golf Classic, on October 26th 2009, at the Valencia Country Club. It won’t be long before these soldiers, who risked their life, will take a swing at building a new one.
