Wolters Kluwer Health announced today that Pharmacy OneSource released new enhancements for the label module of Simplifi 797, a web-based quality assurance software for USP 797 sterile compounding compliance.
The new features allow users to limit how many label fields are required for their facility and offer additional printing options. Users can also now apply barcodes horizontally or vertically, as well as add prep time for compounded medications with expiration dates less than 24 hours.
"The advantage of the Simplifi 797 labels is that we can get a barcode on them without going to a different labeling program. That is important for us since our nurses use barcode technology for charting; the barcode provides safety for our patients," said Gregory Fritz, a pharmacist in Bismarck, ND. "We are using the labels quite a bit on some topical gel syringes and on some IV syringes that we compound in our OR pharmacy."
