Photos for Famine: A fundraiser for the Humanitarian Crisis in Somalia

In response to the growing global concern over the humanitarian crisis in Somalia, two Vancouver entrepreneurs are planning a fundraiser on Saturday September 10th. The fundraising event is a collaboration between saf & benjamin and Klik Photographic.

The Horn of Africa’s famine is the worst humanitarian crisis in the world today, with expectations of devastation growing exponentially every day. More than 11 million people need food, water and medical help immediately. Doctors without Borders, an international medical organization working in the area will be the recipient of all funds raised. So far the organization has sent 55 tons of medical equipment, medicine and therapeutic food to the area.

For a suggested minimum donation of $50 per child, parents will get a modern mini portrait session of their little one, or a family portrait for $75 by acclaimed photographer Kyrani Kanavaros of Klik Photographic. The Canadian Government will match dollar for dollar what is raised from this event.

Before and after their photo session, attendees can peruse the fall arrivals at Saf and Benjamin and will enjoy refreshments. For information on how to register please email noelenes@shaw.ca
