Pilani Rajasthan Shridhar University - Dr Narendran Talk on Organizational Transformation

(Free-Press-Release.com) December 17, 2011 -- The rich experience of Dr Narendran spans over several decades of association as Head of Corporate Learning & Development at Hindustan Zinc Ltd – HZL Udaipur which is an integral part of the global major Vedanta which was the first Indian manufacturing company to be listed on the London Stock Exchange. He had played a stellar role in shaping the Human Resource Development activities at HZL which included the implementation of the Work Integrated Learning BS Process Engineering Programme of Birla Institute of Technology and Science – BITS Pilani.

Shridhar University has a rich tradition of inviting experts from various diverse areas on a regular basis to visit the campus and address the students by sharing their experiences and motivate them to be dreamers, performers and achievers for the larger task of nation building.

Dr Narendran visited Shridhar University on 24 November 2011 and gave a talk on organizational transformation. His talk emphasized on the fact that the changing role of the Human Resource – HR function is the key to transformation. No one has doubt today that rather than raw materials or physical assets, knowledge is hailed as the new source of wealth and the basis for competitive advantage. But to leverage knowledge assets, one must fundamentally convert the organization into learning and development one to facilitate the human resources to be change makers in the transformational process. His talk gave highlights of the organizational transformation that took place at HZL catapulting it to be a globally renowned name. He also gave an overview of the mining industry and the career opportunities associated with it.

Prof Tarun Roy Choudhury welcomed Dr Narendran with a colorful bouquet of flowers and Prof BR Natarajan Pro Vice Chancellor introduced him to the audience and also proposed vote of thanks. The lecture was attended by faculty members as well diploma / degree engineering BBA and MBA students.
