PinkPlanets, Inc. Hosts First Roundtable Discussion: The World of Girls-Creating a Roadmap to Succes

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 11, 2012 -- Dallas, TX, January 11, 2012 - PinkPlanets, Inc. (PPI), a nonprofit organization, will host its first roundtable discussion, “The World of Girls – Creating a Roadmap to Success.” The roundtable discussion will endorse Positive Youth Development (PYD) and the implementation of PPI programs that focuses on the “Five Cs Theory” developmental theory (Competence, Connection, Character, Confidence and Compassion), (Eccles & Goodman, 2002). The event will accommodate fifteen (15) girls, ranging from eight (8) to seventeen (17) years of age.

Discussions will include a variety of issues involving education, community, peers and health. Together, the organization hopes to achieve a mutual understanding of challenges girls face every day and ways in which the organization can sphere positive development that leads to healthier lives. “It’s very important that young people are involved with the groundwork of program development for any nonprofit organization to be successful. If we are not delivering programs and services that embrace involvement and change, we’ve failed our girls,” says Ulivia Gilbert, Executive Director.

Free membership, lunch and participation rewards will be provided. The roundtable discussion will take place February 25, 2012 from 2:00pm – 4:30pm at Resource Center Dallas, 2701 Reagan St., Dallas, TX 75219.
