In what can only be described as the quickest scramble to change marketing methods,
Pittsburgh Internet Marketing firm SpamGenius.com has announced that they have already developed a system that can manipulate the Facebook Graph Search results using something they are calling "ShadowSites".
According to the CEO, William Wright, "ShadowSiting" involves a process of creating an entirely new website that acts, to Facebook, as a main landing page for a company's actual webpage, but is entirely different and isn't linked to the actual website in any way, at least at first appearance.
The ShadowSiting plan takes that 'ShadowSite' and builds tons of links to it. Millions of links. It then develops a system of cloaked Facebook pages that are sent and suggested to thousands of current Facebook users.
The ShadowSite is then linked to that FanPage and the FanPage begins advertising the ShadowSites offered services or products. According to SpamGenius.Com CEO, William Wright, this process is incredibly effective:
"What people don't realize is that because Bing is now inherently partnered in the Graph Search, it means it is extremely easy to manipulate, unlike Google. Google and Bing require different methods of online marketing, and while one method may make a site very effective on Bing, it may entirely deindex it on Google. So, what we have done, is come up with a system that makes the sites appear completely unrelated and unlinked, although in actuality they drive twice the traffic without the risk of penalty. Essentially what we're doing is pulling the rug over Google and Facebook's eyes at the same time."
SpamGenius.Com says that the option to purchase these services will begin as early as next weekend, January 26, 2013.
