Planning Application Volumes Recover, Says Barbour ABI
Ahead of official figures, Barbour ABI data has highlighted that the number of plan applications being submitted to Local Authorities in England, Scotland and Wales continues to recover and is likely to exceed 600k in 2011.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) June 30, 2011 --
However most of this recovery is driven by homeowner and other small applications.
Barbour ABI is a UK based company that reports on 100% of planning applications. Our core business is supplying construction industry professionals with analysis, trends and construction leads.
Adam Valentine, Content Director, says: “The recovery seen in planning application volumes in 2010 has continued into 2011, largely driven by homeowners choosing to stay put and develop their own homes rather than move. The effects of this increase in plan app volumes are even greater when you consider that the changes to permitted development in 2008 effectively removed some home developments from the planning system. Allowing for this adjustment to the figures we’re seeing pre-recession levels of plans being submitted, which is obviously great news for the industry.”
