PLCU managers create ‘money bra’ for breast cancer awareness.

(Free-Press-Release.com) October 8, 2009 -- TEMECULA, CA — That’s a bra made out of money — not a bra with a hidden pocket for stashing cash. Michelle Chavarria, Branch Manager of Point Loma Credit Union’s Temecula branch, and Adriana Brunner, PLCU Business Development Manager, crafted their unique entry for a “Golden Bra” competition being held to raise funds for Michelle’s Place Women’s Breast Cancer Resource Center, a Murietta-based organization for women battling the disease.

Their creation is composed of purple coins, with small pink $100 bills cascading down the front and is festooned with pink ribbons, the symbol of the battle against breast cancer.

“This was a fun project with an important purpose,” said Chavarria. “Michelle’s Place has helped so many women with counseling, finding health care and overall wellness that we’re happy to help “support” this cause.”

The competition is being co-sponsored by South Coast Resort Winery & Spa, in Temecula. Organizers are seeking 1,000 entries, which were displayed at the Wild Women of Wine Country Luncheon held on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009. Proceeds from entry fees went to Michelle’s Place.

The top 12 entries will tour Temecula wineries as part of a traveling exhibition, and will be featured in a calendar.
