PlusTrees.org: An Innovative Reforestation Initiative
PlusTrees.org: An Innovative Reforestation Initiative
With the goal of fighting global warming and deforestation PlusTrees launched its online initiative www.plustrees.org.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 4, 2009 --
By purchasing new trees online, individual participants directly contribute to reforestation efforts and become a part of the PlusTrees community. The PlusTrees project contributes to local economies and educates local farming communities about tree nurseries and planting techniques. Native trees will be planted in areas of Central America, starting with Panama, that have been debilitated by deforestation. All planted trees will be conserved for a minimum of 20 years and will not be used for any commercial purposes.
“With the current global deforestation rate and the growing global warming concerns, the planet needs at least eight billion trees planted each year according to the World Bank. PlusTrees aims to contribute by planting at least one million trees per year. This will be funded by creative new media campaigns and global partnerships with leading companies.” says Frans van Hulle, founder of PlusTrees.
PlusTrees already has partnerships in place, including international affiliate marketing agency Adsmarket, which will contribute extra effort by planting their own trees while advertising PlusTrees through their network. Furthermore, PlusTrees has the support of the Autoridad Nacional del Ambiente (ANAM), Panama’s environmental authority.
PlusTrees offers several tree-packages, starting at $19.99 to plant one tree, or subscription models up to a monthly fee of $49.99 for three trees to be planted each month. Packages include a certificate of ownership, newsletter updates and GPS coordinates of the location of the tree. Additionally, PlusTrees plans to release a unique barcode tree tracking system for its members early 2010.
As a promotion, PlusTrees will plant one additional tree for each person that becomes a member during November and December 2009.
PlusTrees.org is a reforestation organization, with registered offices in UK, London and Panama, Panama City, with focus on planting native trees in Central America. The organization is founded by Frans van Hulle (36). PlusTrees has its own project team in the intervention areas to set up nurseries, plant and conserve the trees. The first areas to be reforested are located close to Santiago in the province of Veraguas in Panama. For more information please visit www.plustrees.org or contact Frans van Hulle, +507 394-9100.
