LinkEdge Technologies is launching PointInsight Version 5.4 in November 2010!
Filled with user suggestions and exciting new enhancements, PointInsight is more
powerful and flexible than ever before.
1. Dashboard Insight
PointInsight 5.4 has incorporated colorful graphs in the dashboard to vibrantly
communicate performance and metrics. The real-time data of each dashboard section
can be displayed in text or graphical format (or even minimized) according to
each user’s preference. As with the text format, the graphs will allow
drill down capabilities into issue details.
2. Standard Reports
Standard reports provide users with a collection of pre-defined status reports.
These reports are grouped by roles; Project Manager, Issue Owner and Issue Team.
Under each role is a list of reports which include issues created, resolved
and on hold within specific date ranges. The results of each report can be displayed
in five different graphical formats; pie, bar, doughnut, column and funnel.
Each graph allows users to drill down further to view and manager the issues
instantaneously.
Standard Reports are accessible from anywhere in the application! In case users
still need customized reporting, ad hoc reporting capabilities continue as before.
Issue Functionality
3. Mass Update
Users can now save time by updating multiple issues simultaneously. From the
Issue Mass Update screen, users can chose the specific issue fields to modify
and save.
Mass updates can be entered by users who have issue edit rights.
4. Reopen Issues
Users now have the ability to track and report on reopened issues. From the
Issue Search report users will have the option to enter search criteria and
limit the search to reopen issues only. The reopen issues will also be marked
with a new icon in reports and will indicate the number of times the issue has
been reopened. In addition, the issue status log will provide a history of the
issue status changing.
5. Mark Milestones
In order to keep track of significant points in any process, issues and action
items can be marked as a milestone. Users will be able to identify issues associated
with design, scope, development, documentation, QA and release milestones using
Pi. Milestones will be flagged with a new icon in reports.
6. Recurring Issue
PointInsight 5.4 can automatically generate issues on a recurring basis. Users
will be able to schedule issues ahead of time on a daily, weekly, monthly and
yearly basis and pre-define the details to be copied. From the Issue Recurring
screen, the team can manage all issues scheduled to recur and those that have
already been generated.
Recurring issues will be marked with a new icon in reports.
7. Issue Linking
Issue linking allows users to create an association between two or more issues.
Issues may be linked for a number of reasons – they may duplicate, incorporate
or depend on another issue. Linking issues is a very simple process that users
can access when editing an issue. There are three components to linking issues.
Link Name: title/description of the link
Link Origin: the issue from where the link has been created
Linked Issues: the issues which are associated to the ‘link origin’
issue
8. Attach Recording Files
Webex recordings (.wrf file extensions) will be included in the list of acceptable
file formats for attachments. Team members can now conveniently attach a recording
of software related problems to issues for others to access and review.
