Poor Man's Recession Survival Ctr Opens Recycling Drop Off Center

(Free-Press-Release.com) July 16, 2010 -- The Poor Man’s Recession Survival Center, in conjunction with Green Irene opened a recycling drop off center for local residents to dispose of ewaste items to help the environment and charities.
Residents can drop off their cell phones, printer cartridges, cameras, PDAs, and laptops to the office located at 151 N Blacks Corners Rd., where they will receive a discount card from the UPS shipping centers and an e-book showing them how to become more eco-friendly and how to save money off their monthly utilities.

It has taken some time, but the public has begun to realize how dangerous the e-waste epidemic is. Take a second to think about it. Technology is advancing every day with new electronics being released to replace the past ones, even if they are just a year or two old.
The problem is that recycling efforts can’t keep up with the rate technology is evolving. When consumers get that new electronic, where does the old one go? More often that not, it goes right in the trash, which will eventually make its way to the landfill.
The e-waste will be funneled to various charities such as EarthWorks and Verizon’s Hopeline, which helps domestic violence prevention programs.
