Portsmouth Mums Could Be Forgotten on Mother’s Day
MOTHER’S Day is set to be a letdown for mums living in Portsmouth.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 8, 2010 --Compared to most major towns and cities in the UK, mothers living in Portsmouth are among the least appreciated by their children, claims a new study.
The south coast city came 56th in a national league table of 60 locations where mums are likely to receive Mothers Day flowers. It was compiled by online florist Serenata Flowers.
The survey claims the luckiest mums in the UK live in York, Norwich, Colchester and Cambridge.
But just like the city football team, Portsmouth is rooted in the “relegation zone” just above Telford, West Bromwich and Ipswich.
Peter Ahl, Managing Director of Serenata Flowers, said: “Children in Portsmouth have a lot to answer for, according to our research."
“We examined our Mother’s Day flowers sales figures from years gone by and worked out which towns and cities were the most – and least – likely to receive flowers."
“We also took into account population sizes. We were a little surprised Portsmouth was so close to the bottom as the south is a fairly affluent area."
