FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 22, 2010 -- Poseur Ink, publisher of Side B: The Music Lover's Comic Anthology; Steve Orlando, author of the innovative adaptation of Paradise Lost; and Chaz Truog, artist of Grant Morrison's legendary Animal Man, present to you a new graphic novel series about a newborn goddess of passion fighting to earn her title and win back her lover.

The book is an action-filled fantasy piece that follows the heroine, Octobriana, on her quest to claim her title as the goddess of lust. Set in Soviet Russia, with chapters full of sex, psychics and Russian mythology, this new incarnation looks to be a titillating thrill.

Octobriana is cursed by her first lover to walk the earth until she can prove she is worthy of her godhood. Abandoned in a world she doesn't understand, she must prove seven times that she understands humanity's need. Only after this will she be allowed to receive her full abilities. Each exciting labor brings her one step closer to understanding humanity and loving those she is supposed to protect.

The first labor comes when Liuba, an enraged telepath, sets loose a viral thought plague that attacks lovers. Octobriana's best friend is the first victim. To avenge him, Octobriana must stem the plague's spread and protect her homeland. The path to victory is a wild journey through Soviet era Russia's dirty, magical backstreets. Only her fantastic powers over emotion and her inventive mastery of folklore magic allow Octobriana to win back her people's passions.

Octobriana drops readers into an atheist Russia where believers still worship in their kitchens and bathrooms. This is a Russia where good citizens meet with secret passwords and lash out with pornography against a government that chokes their sexual desires. Her quest to earn her name is a rollercoaster of urban sorcery and white knuckle passion. Octobriana can only know her people by walking the perilous streets among them, and she can only know herself by fighting for them.

Steve Orlando is the author/adapter of John Milton's Paradise Lost, which sold out at the national John Milton Conference in 2008. He has also completed work for Ronin Studios and Outlaw Territory from Image Comics.

In addition to Animal Man, Chaz Truog has illustrated a variety of projects such as Coyote at Image Comics and Chiaroscuro: the Private Lives of Leonardo da Vinci for DC Comics/Vertigo.

Letterer Thomas Mauer was one of the production editors on Popgun, principal letterer for Outlaw Territory, and also letters Killer of Demons and Bad Dog - all from Image Comics.

The trade paperback weighs in at nearly 200 pages and includes the original story Octobriana and The Case of The Contagious Brain illustrated by Chaz Truog as well as five other short stories all written by Steve Orlando, original writing inspired by Octobriana, and pin-ups and fanart from various industry artists.

Poseur Ink is currently running an event on Kickstarter in order to raise the printing costs for the trade.
