Positive change in the air as CURVENY wraps its CURVExpo 2010 New York Lingerie and Swimwear Trade Show with a 17% uptick in attendance

Curve was founded in 2007 to be the premier trade show showcasing intimate apparel, swimwear and accessories as forces in fashion and the fashion industry. Now in its fourth year, it has become the largest and only event of its kind in North America

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 19, 2010 -- New York, NY – February 26 2010– Signs that the clouds of a gloomy economy are lifting were everywhere at CURVENY New York , the premier international trade show for intimate apparel, mens’ underwear and swimwear held February 21 ,22 and 23 2010 at New York’s Jacob Javits Center.

The New York show opened a whirlwind 72 hours after the close of CURVENV , the successful Las Vegas edition. While CURVENV Las Vegas was also a harbinger of improved economic times, CURVENY New York did even better in terms of increased attendance over 2009, with 17% more buyers surging through the doors. . All the major retailers including all distribution channels attended CURVENY and were warmly welcomed by the exhibiting brands. A total of 2266 retailers arrived steadily over the three days, eager to get a look at the latest innovative designs in foundation and swimwear.
The best news is that attendees did more than window shop: the increase in traffic at both shows yielded significant results in terms of onsite order-taking.

A well-rounded range of exhibitors (225) showcased brands offering foundation wear, sleepwear , maternity , bodyshapers, hosiery and more, reflecting the increasing demands of consumers to be able to shop for all their body-conscious clothing online as well as in-store at department stores and specialty boutiques.

Creativity and innovation were on spectacular display in many of exhibitor’s lines, with something new to suit every taste. Sexiness was back, with a new originality: Marlies Dekkers foundation line featured leather pieces, while DIESEL offered up a His & Hers underwear package with provocative messages and Bordelle served up a bondage-inspired look. For the more innocent, there were Laurence Tavernier’s beautiful luxurious cottons, and Josie Natori Hand Made robes celebrated handcrafted workmanship. All in all, the offerings at CURVENY showed impressive attention to detail and luxurious touches that retailers were craving to entice shoppers back into the stores.

The events planned for CURVENY attendees reflected the new optimism in the air. Appropriately, “Signs of Change” was the title of the two seminars held by CONCEPTS Paris, that gave attendees insights into current trends and their influence on the collections presented at the show. The “ So Curve “ Fashion Show in the landmark location Edison Ballroom presented an elegant runway show by A Suivre Paris, showcasing both International Brands’ fresh new styles and color palletes and “ So French “ Lingerie that celebrated the iconic French woman’s sense of style and joie de vivre. Retailers , press and the Brands socialized at the after party with free-flowing champagne. This year, Le Defi , La Mode de France (www.defi-lamoddefrance.com) sponsored The French Lounge, on the show site, where retailers enjoyed non-stop VIP treatment all through the 3-day show.

After catching their breath, retailers and brands will begin gearing up for the next August dates of CURVExpo for the Spring/Summer 2011Collection:
