I knew I needed to develop nutritional supplements that would supply cells
with what they needed. That's where the idea of USANA was born.

Q4: What led you to put the idea of USANA into action?

Dr. Wenz: The concept of cellular nutrition for humans came about while I was developing
viral diagnostic products at Gull Laboratories.
The management of Gull Laboratories saw it as a diversion from the core business.
I realised I needed to seperate this project from Gull Laboratories.

Q5: Why did you seek out Network Marketing as a vehicle to sell USANA products?

Because these products were so different from what was commercially available,
people needed to tell the story about the difference.
I wasn't inclined at first to pursue network marketing untill one day
I realized the possibilities of what it could be if the products were of quality
and if the compensation plan was fair to everybody involved.
It's a wonderful entrepreneurial business model.

Q6: What would you say to a new associate starting an USANA business?

DR. Wentz: They are obvious making a change in their life and looking for
answers to health and for improving their quality of life.
I just feel grateful that they are accepting change in their lifes.
It just brings a smile to me because I knew what they're accepting and what is
being handed to them has a potential for making a huge difference in their life.
