Bettingpro's chief football writer shares his Premier League betting tips for this weekend's round of fixtures, which include Arsenal v Liverpool and Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur.
The weekend starts with a bang with Sunderland hosting Newcastle United in the Tyne-Wear derby at the Stadium of Light. The match will be played at 100 mph but Bettingpro tipster Neil Roarty is not expecting there to be too many chances, as both sides build on opening day draws, and he is backing under 2.5 goals.
Ironically, those draws were against Arsenal and Liverpool, who meet at the Emirates. The Gunners may have scraped a midweek Champions League win but they haven't impressed Neil and the Premier League odds indicate that they will struggle to finish in the top four this season. Bettingpro’s writer thinks Liverpool can, therefore, get the better of Arsenal on Saturday.
The Premier League odds suggest that routine home wins will be scored by Aston Villa, Everton and Chelsea on Saturday afternoon and Neil agrees. He makes Aston Villa to beat Blackburn the ‘weekend banker’ and is taking both Chelsea and Everton to be leading at half-time and win their matches, against QPR and West Brom respectively.
Elsewhere, Swansea v Wigan Athletic is, according to Neil, a must bet for those who like to back both teams to score, or ‘goals galore’ as it is commonly referred to.
The Sky Sports 'Super Sunday' match features the top two in the Premier League (albeit after only one round of matches) and despite the fact that both Bolton and Man City scored four goals last week, Neil is expecting something of a stalemate at the Reebok. Under 2.5 goals is the Bettingpro tipster's bet on the big match on Sunday and his other Premier League betting tips on Sunday are Norwich to beat Stoke and Fulham to draw with Wolves in the day's other matches.
Monday night's live Premier League match looks to be an absolute corker, with Manchester United hosting Tottenham Hotspur under the floodlights at Old Trafford. Spurs have an awful record in the Theatre of Dreams and have lost on their last six visits to the North West. Bettingpro’s football guru is expecting this to continue and is confidently tipping United to win.
