President Offers the Public Asteroid Insurance Cover for 2012.

December 7, 2011

Glasgow, Scotland, December 2011 – Inspired by the wintry conditions of January 2011, Harriet Prentice and John Morgan authored a non-fiction book on humorous car insurance claims.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) December 7, 2011 -- The book is titled “Am I covered? You’re covered.” After reading the book, Mike St. Lawrence, President of the UFO Abduction Insurance Co – whose policies include insurance coverage in case the earth is destroyed in 2012 – said, “…Congratulations, you [Harriet] have taken the nuts and bolts of the Insurance business and made it fun. Really enjoyed it…”

In addition to the humorous stories, the book is interspersed with research articles and surveys about car insurance. Topics covered include how insurance began and what type of cover is available for travel into the outer regions of space. A chapter even discusses insurance cover for in case the Earth is destroyed in 2012, as some predict.

David J. Rioux, Vice President of Erie Insurance (USA) and President of International Association of Special Investigation Units (USA), also said of the book: “…It’s somewhat humorous and a little informative. It gives a reader some insight into a claim adjuster’s day for sure, and some bizarre and unusual types of claims that are made. I’m sure this was a large undertaking ….”

Animals – the cause of many accidents – receive their own chapters. There is an “Ode to the Pheasant” in Shakespearean prose, a parody of Mark Antony’s speech at Julius Caesar’s funeral.

Individuals and various major national and global insurance companies provided stories. Contributions came from Australia, Allianz Insurance, and Canada, Kanitex.ca. From Britain, among others, Anna Stone of Aviva UK delved into her company’s archives and provided unique historic and recent claims. The book shows the uniformity of human idiosyncrasies.

The “…book humorously points out even some of the strangest situations you can find yourself in are covered – so insurers aren’t all bad,” said Erik Nelson, Media Relations Manager, Aviva UK.

The book cover was designed free of charge by Alex Macsoda, an award winning graphic artist

Co-author John Morgan said, “It was our intention to go for a September book release, but this was delayed until now. We had grossly under-estimated the work involved. We have now been caught in the seasonal back log.”

The book, ISBN 9781908603005, is published by the UK Arts Council, funded FeedAread.com. It is currently available on Amazon.com and Amazon.uk. A Kindle edition will be downloadable by the end of December 2011. Although the book is aimed at the motoring public, all age groups will chuckle at its contents.
