President Takes Stand Against Trafficking!

The 4th Annual Northwest Conference Against Trafficking & Film Festival will be held January, 9-15, 2012 in Portland, Oregon.

January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month proclaimed by President Obama in January 2011. NWCAT is a coalition of many Agencies, Political Leaders, Community Organizations, Individuals, Media and Business Supporters throughout the Northwest working to Inform, Educate, and Protect the women and children from Human Labor & Sex Trafficking in America and around the world. The conference focuses on Prevention, Education, and Action to help prevent and protect victims of exploitation and trafficking.
The conference will offer breakout sessions/trainings, networking receptions, over 50 presenters & keynote speakers, award luncheon, exhibit resource expo, film screenings, and silent auction. The Jane Velez-Mitchell Journalism Award will also be presented. Workshops will include: Porn Addiction in the United States, Stranger Danger, Media Matters; a workshop for reporters by reporters and more. Many CEU's are also available for those needs continuing education units.
Speakers include: Oregon State Attorney General John Kroger, CNN HERO and founder of Friends of Maiti Nepal Anuradha Koirala ,Kristen Anderson from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Attorney and Policy Advocate Beth Klein, United States Senator Ron Wyden, and International Investigative Reporter Amber Lyon to name a few of over 50 speakers.
The emcees for the weekend are Kacey Montoya from CBS Koin Local 6, Jane Velez-Mitchell, host of "Issues" on HLN and Soroptimist Governor Sue Riney.
