Presiding Bishop Excommunicates or dismisses nearly all fellow Bishops
Despite claims of "Nation’s Largest Independent Catholic Jurisdiction Affirms Total Acceptance for All" the recently elected Presiding Bishop excommunicated or dismissed nearly all fellow Bishops.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) December 31, 2010 --
In an ironic twist and contrary to the his "Safe Church Statement" the recently elected Presiding Bishop of the Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch, Bishop Mark Elliot Newman, in a shocking and unprecedented power grab, has excommunicated four Bishops and dismissed an additional six. Most of those ousted were members of the churches Board of Governors who elected the Presiding Bishop to a five year term. The expulsions came after the Governing Board almost unanimously expressed objections over unilateral decisions made by the Presiding Bishop and financial irregularities. The Presiding Bishop has removed financial officers and cosigners on church bank accounts and taken over all church fund and properties.
(Safe Church Statement

This commitment reflects our desire to preserve this church as a safe sanctuary for all who enter and as a place in which all people can experience the love of God through relationship with one another.)
