Principality launches 15 Month Bond to help support charity, Cancer Research Wales

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 23, 2012 -- Principality Building Society has today launched a 15 Month Charity Bond for savers that pays a competitive rate of interest and also donates an additional percentage of money to the Society’s 2012 Charity of the Year, Cancer Research Wales.

The Cancer Research Wales Bond pays a fixed interest rate of 3.05% AER* for 15 months from the date of account opening. In addition, the building society will donate an amount equivalent to 0.10% interest on the total funds invested in the account as at 31 December 2012, to its adopted charity.

Principality’s Savings Manager, Kate Murray, said: “This is the second charity bond that we have launched having had great success with our first in 2011, with a donation of over £2,200 going to Wales Air Ambulance.

“This year savers can help us to support Cancer Research Wales, a charity that provides invaluable funding to support research that helps make positive steps towards tackling this complex illness. We hope this year’s Bond will be equally if not more successful to help make a significant difference in this area.”

Savers can deposit up to £2m each into the account, which can be opened with a minimum of £500. Additional deposits are also permitted while the bond remains on sale. Withdrawals are not permitted.

The Bond is available online, via post or in branch, so savers don’t need to be resident in Wales to access it.
