Private and Government aide for veterans in search of high paid “green” Jobs

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 17, 2010 -- San Francisco, CA.- In a joint venture with California State University, Continental Technical Institute (CTI) is working with charity Hire A Hero to offer returning service members and their spouses a pathway into high paid green jobs in the expanding water industry.

CTI will be conducting a career teleconference for up to 2000 veterans on Wednesday, February 24th. The conference will announce a Cal State University accredited, 24 Week online training program that will enable returning service men and women to acquire the credentials to step into one of the many available career position in the water management industry through-out the United States.

Alburt Fury, CEO of CTI commented: “Partnering with Hire A Hero allows us to give back to those who have served our country and offer veterans a rare opportunity to walk into a secure long-term career with a $50k-$78k starting salary. This is the first time this kind of training is available to veterans without previous experience in the water industry.”

“After returning from service, most of these young men and women are eager to find meaningful work. Now we can help them find high paying, high-tech, green jobs in the water industry.”

Tuition for these classes costs up to $10,800.00, but for those veterans that register through Hire A Hero an entry level program has been temporarily reduced to $6750 for the 24 week course. Tuition assistance is available from private and government programs for those who cannot afford to pay the entire cost of the training. CTI will accept ALL VETERANS into the program and offer tuition assistance with a nominal down payment.

Rob Barr, Executive Director of the Armed Forces Support Foundation’s Hire A Hero program commented: “We are excited about this partnership with CTI and Cal State University, so many of our veterans come home looking for a good job but don’t always find the salary they need to support their family.

“This 24 week course can help our veterans earn a salary which would be impossible in many of the traditional careers for their service to our country.”

Bret Kadel, Owner of water consulting firm Water Operator Solutions, confirmed that water and wastewater professionals make as much as engineers in the same field with a fraction of the schooling.

“Take a couple of classes, pass a state exam, and you’re in the door averaging Pk a year and receiving the same retirement and medical benefits as a police or fireman. This is an unbelievable opportunity for vets. No matter where the economy is, managing it, has become a vital profession to cities, states, and effectively our entire country. Something our military is already doing.”
