On Friday, November 13th, 2009, The King’s Academy will be sponsoring a discounted shopping day at The Mall at Wellington Green. Private Schools Palm Beach Get “Scientific,” The King’s Academy Visits Scripps

On November 5th, 2009, The King’s Academy Advanced Placement science students went on a little “field trip.” These students were the first of all private schools in Palm Beach to participate in Scripps’ Pre-med Roundtable. Four Scripps researchers explained their duties and their education backgrounds to the students and held a lengthy Q&A session. They then gave the students a tour of Scripps’ laboratories.

Most of the students who attended have aspirations of becoming doctors or medical researchers. This opportunity was great for them to gain insight of the medical research profession.

Megan Finsness (senior) “It was really interesting and helped me solidify my desire to pursue a career in biomedical engineering, specifically the study of the medical advances for the brain,” said Megan Finsness, a senior at The King’s Academy.

Overall The King’s Academy Advanced Placement students of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, learned a load of great information and greatly benefited from this unique experience.
