Professional Program Insurance Brokerage of Novato CA is pleased to announce Jay Striniste has joined the agency in the underwriting department.

ANYWHERE , California, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) February 2, 2012 -- Jay has sixteen years experience in the insurance industry within the underwriting and claims disciplines. He was most recently at Hiscox USA, where he assumed underwriting and business development responsibilities for Allied Healthcare Professional Liability. He also was instrumental to the growth of the Management Liability book for the West Region.

Prior to Hiscox, Jay was employed by CNA in the San Francisco region. He was hired as the first regional underwriter in 2002, and was a major contributor to the expansion of their CNAPRO book for private company D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Fidelity, Misc. and tech E&O. Before CNA, Jay started his underwriting career with American International Group, as an underwriter for private and public D&O/EPL. Not wanting to leave any carriers out, Jay also spent time with Fireman’s Fund and Travelers Insurance as a litigation manager for environmental and toxic tort claims.

Born and raised in a suburb of Hartford, Connecticut, the “insurance capital”, it was a logical move into the industry. Jay graduated from the University of Connecticut where he studied Environmental Sciences. He is an avid sports fan, following his UCONN Huskies, New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. He enjoys reading, home improvement projects, outdoor activities, and playing almost all sports – although his golf game would be better termed as hacking rather than playing. Most of all Jay enjoys spending time with his wife and son, preferably on vacation in Hawaii.

Jay is a retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force, with five overseas tours most recently in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He has his SCUBA certification, is a pizza fanatic and just recently graduated to the iPhone.
