Profitable Investment in Romanian Clean Energy Projects
With the Romanian Green Certificates Scheme finally in place investors stand in line to get hold on Clean Energy Projects
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 19, 2011 --
It took a while but now it finally happened: The Romanian Government approved the Green Certificates Scheme that pays up to 6 Green Certificates for Renewable Energy Project in Romania. But for now it is the Wind Energy that seems to trigger investors. Although with over 8000 MW already with a connection contract the market fights for the last available projects. Wind pays up to 160 EURO per MW until 2018 and with electricity prices expected to double in the next decade, Wind looks like a good investment.
How to find good projects?
Yet, it is not so easy to find good projects in Romania. The reason is that many projects are developed in the so-called NATURA 2000 protected area's. That means that although authorities might have issued an environment permit, the project might be forced to close down when contested in the European Court. This is because of the EU Birds Directive and Habitat Directive. Projects in Germany, Poland and Bulgaria already has to stop operations because of an EU court Order.
Therefore, potential investors might take the advise to contact a professional broker for accessing good projects on the market. Markus Vrieling, CEO of Europe's premier broker in clean energy says:"We made an inventory of available projects in Romania and were astonished how many of those projects are in so-called SPA's. Special Purpose Area's that in fact are protected by European Law. We therefore advise investors to deal with an independent broker in order to prevent investments in projects that are in danger to be shut down in the future".
