Progressive Physiotherapy Clinic Opens Yoga Studio

November 30, 2009

Yoga and Physiotherapy Team Up for Good Health and Well-Being

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) November 30, 2009 -- Vancouver based and well-respected Treloar Physiotherapy Clinic has partnered with an incredible group of Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi instructors to form The Studio at Treloar. This warm and calming facility offers clients classes that help them transition safely into a group exercise routine. Class sizes are purposefully kept small so that the instructors can pay individual attention to all members of the class.

As well as yoga classes, The Studio offers private yoga therapy sessions and private yoga consultations for those who would benefit from one-on-one attention. Tai Chi, pilates, chair yoga, group exercise for the older adult and core strengthening classes are also offered at The Studio. By offering physiotherapy, personal training and group classes, Treloar Physiotherapy Clinic is taking a multi-faceted approach to injury prevention and rehabilitation. Proven techniques for pain management are breathing, relaxation, and meditation. These three aspects act to distract your mind from pain, reduce your body’s tension in reaction to pain and provide an opportunity to "move through" the pain instead of resisting it so it loses its full impact thus allowing you to minimize medication usage and helping you to lead a happier and fuller life.

If you are recovering from an injury or accident, it is important to let your body heal at its own pace. Working with trained professionals at The Studio at Treloar will allow you to do just that by focusing on the areas of your body that need the most strengthening and conditioning. The Studio specializes in working with individuals that are new to yoga with private or group classes and also offers more advanced classes to those with an athletic background or who are have participated in yoga before and are looking for a more intense workout. They also offer a yoga class for those that prefer or feel more comfortable remaining seated in a chair, confined to a wheelchair, living in long-term care or live independently but with some restrictions. These sessions explore exercises to help you flex, lengthen and strengthen your body.

The continuum of physiotherapy to exercise class facilitates for communication between the therapists and the class instructors which allows for the best possible personal adaption of the various exercises. This two-way communication also feeds important information from the instructor to the therapist allowing the therapist to focus treatment where required. Visit The Studio at Treloar to explore the alternatives to traditional medicine and treatments.
