When the two designers behind SLA went looking for a new apartment. They were discouraged by what was available. Extremely expensive ($6000+ per month) new apartments in a high rise or villa, and also many inexpensive office tell style apartments. Sometimes referred to as "one rooms". Both were at opposite ends of the spectrum. They were searching for something with a little character, something that had an honest design. Something that actually used real materials and not plastic floors. This is how SLA was born.

"We made apartments that we would want to live in." says Eunue one of the designers behind SLA. Although they are not true full serviced apartments they do offer many of the same things as seoul serviced apartments do. Their units are furnished, all inclusive and are ready with kitchen ware, dishes and everything you could need to move in. They are also very spacious. Tall ceilings, hardwood floors and also concrete floors. These are stylish lofts with nice industrial touches. The staff can also help with anything you need. Less like a concierge and more like a local friend who can point you in the right direction and help you out if you have a problem.
