ProMexico Encourages Foreign Investment and Export Activity
Mexico's Government is keen to participate in the international economy. This is why the Government Department created ProMexico, in an effort to stimulate investment from foreign companies.

Federal District, Mexico January 7, 2012 - In a tight economy, the only way to move forward for many businesses is to find ways to increase productivity and decrease operational costs. Many international businesses have realized the benefit of moving some of their business operations to countries such as Mexico, which allows them access to more affordable labor and cheaper operational costs.
In order to attract more foreign business interest, the Mexican Government has worked hard to create ProMexico. This is the institution responsible for helping to strengthen Mexico's participation within the international economy.
ProMexico encourages businesses to consider moving some or part of their operations, manufacturing, warehousing or logistics to parts of Mexico to help reduce rising corporate costs. This allows many foreign businesses to remain competitive in an increasingly difficult economic climate. It also allows many businesses to increase operations and expand business further.
The Mexican Government actively encourages new business, proudly announcing that it's much easier for any investor to open a company within Mexico. The number of procedures required for most investors to open a company within countries such as China, Brazil or India is far greater, with Mexico being significantly simpler.
Likewise, the time it takes to open a business and begin operations is also greatly reduced as compared to the same countries.
As local labor costs are considerably lower within Mexico this allows large companies to centralize warehousing and shipping within specific Mexican industrial parks and keep costs to a bare minimum. Mexico offers 74 open airports and 114 sea ports, not to mention an extensive railroad network. This allows for easy shipping to and from anywhere in the world.
A multitude of globally-recognized companies have established bases within Mexico, all with the assistance of ProMexico. ProMexico may also assist certain companies with a travel grant up to an amount of $50,000 MXN per trip. This grant amount is designed to assist with reimbursement for those companies conducting trips to Mexico in order to promote trade and investment within the country.
