ProSiebenSat.1 Media Returns to Profit in Q4

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 4, 2010 -- European media conglomerate ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG today reported its fourth quarter and full-year results for 2009.

The company, which operates commercial television, premium pay channels, radio stations and related print businesses, recorded yearly revenues of EUR 2.761 billion, down 5.5 percent from last year.

However, the Group gained ground in Q4 performance, generating revenues of EUR 880.5 million in the fourth quarter of 2009. This is equivalent to a slight gain of 1.8 percent against the fourth quarter of 2008, primarily because of higher advertising revenues in the German core market. ProSiebenSat.1’s audience share increased from 29.4 percent to 30.1 percent in German core market.

In this challenging advertising market, the company has also undertaken cost management policies that resulted in a decrease of 9.6 percent in recurring costs.
