Provell Employees “Adopt” Families for the Holidays

(Free-Press-Release.com) December 22, 2009 -- , Employees of Provell, Inc., a privately held, Minnesota-based marketing services company, made the holiday season brighter for a pair of Twin Cities families as they participated for the fourth year in an annual “Adopt-A-Family” program sponsored by a local charitable organization.

Each November, Provell colleagues gather together over holiday treats to select the various gift items that they will purchase for members of the two families.

Members of each family, parents and children alike, submit “wish” lists of items that they would like. Often the items listed are necessities, rather than the toys or luxury items one would expect to find on a list to Santa. One father requested an oil change, while a mother requested a new uniform for work and a pair of warm winter boots. Of course, the children requested some fun items, too, including a remote control car and board games.

This year Provell employees also participated in a silent auction featuring items donated by Provell’s Merchandise department, which raised several hundred dollars that were used to buy a grocery store gift card for each family. Anonymous contributors participated as well. In addition to the gifts purchased by employees and the grocery store gift cards, the company itself donated several department store gift cards and movie certificates to each family.

According to Membership Program Manager Melanie Bisson, “This year, when there is so much need in the community, I think we all felt it was especially important to give, and give generously. At Provell, we have a lot of fun employee events, but I know this is certainly the most rewarding, if not most anticipated, event of the year for many of us.”
