Q&A WITH JEAN ELIE HOLLYWOODS NEW BLOOD QUICKLY MAKING HIS WAY AMONG THE RANKS

1.What is your experience in the field of professional acting? 
To be completely honest I have acquired professional acting skills from watching and studying the greats like Will Smith, Denzel Washington, and Robert De Niro. I've also taken some private coaching classes from Helen McCready, Thomas Benton, and Jason Buyer to really sharpen things up. I've also worked several small budget movies and a big budget movie that was directed by Nima Nourizade and produced by Todd Phillips. Right Now I have a few projects in the works and a pet project that I working on getting picked up.

2. How do you try to improve on your acting skills? I always watch my audition tapes, as well as the audition of others. Like I would YouTube other good actors auditions and just watch them for hours. Then, I would take my flip camera out and perform monologues or scenes with a partner. And go over that process for another few hours. I also read, take private classes and watch a lot of movies. I do this because I don't want to be noticed as an actor. I want to be real I want to live in that moment in that characters life. I want you and the audience to feel like your really there. I think Meisner best put it when he said, " living truthfully under imaginary circumstances” And that exactly what I plan to do, that why I’m constantly working on myself.

3. For how many years have you been in the field of acting? 
I have been in this field for about 4 years, 3 of which it was just a hobby and 1 year of seriously working on growing as an actor. I'm talking about waking up and thinking about it, audition 3-5 times a week. Going to casting director workshops, acquiring an agent, joining AFTRA and becoming SAG Eligible. I'm also proud to say within that year I have been in 5 movies and have met and been directed by great directors like Antoine Fuqua, Nima Nourizade, and Joseph Kahn. I've also worked with great producers like Todd Phillips and Spike Lee.
4. What are your weak points when it comes to acting? 
I’ll be honest and say that I am not very good in expressing through my body language at times. But I would also like to mention that I have been working on my weaknesses and would surely overcome those soon.

5. What is your best quality as an actor? 
My best quality as an actor is my ability to really understand a character quickly allowing me to real live that moment. Before acting I was a sales manger and took many classes and seminars on understanding human behavior and there habits. Allowing me the ability to understand a characters thought process pretty quickly and live in that moment.
6. What is your favorite saying? "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" Meaning take risk, but smart risks where the odd are good. I took so many risks coming out to LA in pursuit of this dream. However I’m glad I did it and it’s was all worth it. Just waiting for the big pay-off now so I can move my mother out here and away from the stresses of working her 2 jobs.
7. What are your goals for the next two years? To be nominated. I'll be cool with that, because after you get nominated your bound to win something soon enough. Lol
