Quaker Study Show I.E. 6 Users Are The Nicest

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 1, 2011 --
It is getting personal with browser users these days. Recently there was a study released by Canadian company AptiQuant titled “Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and Browser Usage.” See the report on Mashable here.
I.E. Users Gave The Most To Panhandlers
The results of the study concluded that users of Internet Explorer 6 have an average IQ score barely more than 80; Firefox and Chrome users a bit higher, with average IQ scores of around 110, while Opera and Camino users have an average IQ score of more than 120.
This study upset some Internet Explorer users so much that they even threatened AptiQuant with hate mail and lawsuits. Well, Internet Explorer 6 users can take heart because another study has come out showing I.E. users in a much better light.
The Quaker Technology Company, Quak Tech Ltd. from Quakertown Pennsylvania tested over 1032 browser users with a variety of written, verbal and real life tests to determine the kindness and generosity of the different browser users.
The test subjects were not told what the test was about so they had no idea that they were supposed “to act nicely.” They were just told to be themselves and act naturally. For example, for one test the subjects were taken for a short walk around the downtown area of Quakertown PA. Another member of the Quak Tech team was strategically placed on the route dressed as a panhandling homeless person.
Quaker Study Shows Safari Users Are Most Aloof
The test subjects were walked right in front of the homeless panhandler who directly asked the subject for money. 82% of the I.E. 6 users reached into their pockets and spared some change. The Firefox users were a bit more hesitant but still 51% gave money to the homeless person. Opera and Camino users were much more guarded and only 18% gave to the panhandler.
Ironically the Opera and Camino users scored the highest on the I.Q. tests from AptiQuant yet the lowest on the Quaker kindness test.
In addition there were social interaction tests. Subjects were brought into a room where they had already been formally introduced to everyone in the room. Then a new person who did not know anybody was allowed into the room.
Again the I.E. 6 users not only were the most friendly but showed the most initiative. 56% of the I.E. 6 users walked over to the new person and introduced themselves. 38% of the I.E. users actually took the person around the room and introduced him to the other guests.
Only 26-28% of the Firefox and Chrome users bothered to introduce themselves and 3% actually took the person around the room introducing him to everybody. The Safari users just hid in a corner of the room playing with their iPads. None of the Safari users introduced themselves. The study concluded that Safari users were the most “aloof.”
The study was anonymous and all participants were interviewed regarding their personal relationships. I.E. users were the most faithful and had the highest percentage of relationships lasting for more than 5 years with one partner. Opera and Camino users were found to be the most promiscuous. Most Safari users were single and had never been in a relationship with anything other than their Mac.
The study was performed starting April 1 2011 and lasted 10 days. The study was meant to be an in house study for the Quaker Community. However, because of the release of the recent AptiQuant report showing I.E. users in a less than favorable light Quak Tech Ltd. decided to release the report to give a more balanced view of I.E. 6 users.
Quaker Study Concludes “We Should Be Kind To All People No Matter What Browser They Use”
Bill Penn, president and founder of Quak Tech Ltd. said “you may not be able to measure what is in a person’s heart or mind by their choice of browser but we should be kind to all people no matter what browser they use.”
