A group of American scientists have developed quantum physics technology that will shake the earth to its core. As a benefit to mankind, it rivals man’s harnessing of fire. As a weapon, it has no equal. Before the scientists can complete the development of the technology, they are slaughtered by a team of Spetsnaz trained mercenaries hired to steal the research. To hunt down these killers a retired CIA agent, James Roundtree, is reinstated. Having encountered the leader of the mercenaries in the past, he becomes the logical choice to head up the American contingency whose aims are to bring those responsible for the murder of the scientists to swift justice and retrieve the technology before its exploitation by the thieves. Jim, along with other US assets, goes on the offensive. Jim and his team leave a trail of bodies from the US and Canada to Greece, where things go dreadfully wrong for the CIA agent, and Jim’s life and the lives of his team hang in the balance when he finds the cat and mouse game in which he is now engaged has become stacked against him by betrayal from high level people in Washington DC. As Jim is drawn deeper into this whirl wind of deception and intrigue, he begins to realize he probably will not see his home and family again.
