QUIET TIME TALES AT ORANGE COUNTY CHILDREN’S BOOK FESTIVAL

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 23, 2009 -- Los Angeles, CA, 22 September 2009 – Quiet Time Productions will debut the character Grandpa Read in person at the Orange County Children’s Book Festival, Sunday, Oct. 4, at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. Grandpa Read, from the newly released children’s DVD series Quiet Time Tales, will read stories from the collection on stage and will then join families for photos.

In the tradition of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and Reading Rainbow, Quiet Time Tales is wholesome, educational children’s entertainment. Each of the DVDs in the company’s first collection features five complete stories read by the gentle character of Grandpa Read. Dozens of illustrations commissioned specifically for the collection accompany the stories. At the end of each DVD, Grandpa Read sings a new original song. This combination has been observed to have a soothing effect on children and has resulted in an increase in children’s desire to be read to by parents and grandparents.

The collection is unique in the area of children’s entertainment where frenetic animation, crazy sound effects and loud music are the norm. In contrast, Quiet Time Tales’ combination of calm storytelling, charming illustrations and peaceful original songs was developed to address a need for down time in children’s lives by relaxing and soothing them during their daily quiet time and at bedtime.

DVDs from collection will also be available at the Quiet Time Tales booth as will music CDs from the new series. Book fair attendees can enter a drawing to win the complete collection of DVDs by visiting booth 26, right down the main aisle from the Illustrator’s Stage and adjacent to the Storyteller’s Stage. Grandpa Read will be there to take pictures with children.
