“Raang” brings art and culture together at Rachana Sansad

The occasion of 52nd Foundation Day of Rachana Sansad, air of positive energy lured in the Academy of Fine Arts & Craft.

21st and 22nd of January were the days when the campus was illuminated with the Augustus of art world. Veteran artist Mehlli Gobhai graced the function on Saturday morning. Coming back to the home town after twenty years of long stay in U.S. Mr Gobhai was full of energy with the students. He became nostalgic at the art studios and revealed his experiences as an artist and also shared the warmth he feels in his home town. The afternoon session began with Dr Sudhir Partwardhan and Dilip Ranade. Two different artists, different personalities and different individuals they very casually shared the dais and had a dialogue about their works. The Mehfil of those two eminent artists was not bounded in time. Both of them carried the dialogue with good humour and sensitivity. Among the guests were Dr Kannal from Vadodara with few students, Madhav Imarate, artist and art critic. Everybody admired the new trend of bringing such artists on one platform.

The Sunday morning began with the vibrant energy of Sun shine with Prabhakar Kolte walking in the campus. The immediate next was Padmashree Dr Sarayu Doshi came in and the atmosphere in the college turned out to be like a heaven where Sarasvati and Vishwakarma sat together of the dais. “It gives me a great pleasure sharing my college days with the students this morning,” said Dr Sarayu Doshi. Nostalgic Dr Doshi poured her emotions about her seniors and mentors Dr Moti Chandra and Karl Khandalawala. Prabhakar Kolte at the same time could not stop giving the speech in Hindi. “Mai jab bahut khoosh hota hu to Hindi mai baat karta hu”(I speak in Hindi whenever I am very happy) said he. Both the dignitaries warmly came together and graced the occasion. A strange aura of these celebrities stayed on Rachana Sansad the whole evening.
