RCA Records Shuts Down Jive, Arista And J records But Independents Like CitySide Records Increase

October 8, 2011

The economy has caused a lot of businesses to close but the independent labels like CitySide Records and others know how to Holy Hustle to remain prosperous through it all in God.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 8, 2011 -- Three of RCA Record's imprints closed in a move to revamp RCA's image.

Musicians aren't the only members of the entertainment industry that are feeling the effects of the dwindling economy. Now, the Hollywood Reporter indicates that RCA Records has closed the doors on three of its leading subsidiary labels Jive, Arista and J.

RCA Records CEO Peter Edge recently confirmed the dissolution of the three labels earlier today. Edge says that the decision came about after RCA's digital music sales experienced a major growth over the past weeks. He says that now, he's looking to expand RCA's scope of business and revamp its image by cutting ties with its less profitable imprints Jive, Arista and J.

"What we're witnessing - finally, maybe - is the digital turnaround that's long been discussed, where people feel comfortable buying music and building their collections digitally," he explained. "The path we've taken is to refresh RCA, so we're going to retire those brands. There may be a reason down the line to bring them back, but it's a clean slate here...[t]he concept is that there is value in branding RCA and not having it confused or diluted by other labels. RCA is big now. We've doubled our market share, and we're competing with the top label groups in the industry. I was at J when it started, Jive's a wonderful moniker, and Arista speaks for itself. They're all great, historic labels. But our goal is to refresh and rebrand RCA. And the artists have all been supportive. We didn't make this move without consulting our artists, and we haven't had any push-back. Frankly, they're the brand. We're defined by our artists."

Independents know now in this economy why the major label's aren't signing new talent. So labels like CitySide Records knows the Holy Hustle to keep their image of God out there by taking it to the streets. Minister Stevie Tee the Founder of the Christian Rap/Gospel label announced today that he has brought on Christian Rapper NINO to help head the label in the direction it needs to go. About 2 months ago the labels ex President G. Simmons left the ministry label to pursue his own endeavors which at that time Minister Stevie Tee knew God was preparing to open up doors for the ministry label which indeed is happening now. CitySide Records has signed 4 new artist LaNina Gay, Nisea, Latrice Brown and Sheila all who are currently working in the studio with Minister Stevie Tee to release their albums. Minister Stevie Tee is writing material for them along with bringing in 2 song writers from Atlanta that he has also signed to write songs for their mix tapes which will be sold in the streets, online and some stores nationwide. Minister Stevie Tee said that NINO was a great addition to the ministry label because he is sold out for Christ and serious about his Godly grind selling music out the trunk of cars and making good noise in the streets. Minister Stevie Tee met Nino at his July 21st CD release party for his CD Spiritual Warfare which can be heard and purchased at: www.cdbaby.com/ministerstevietee2 , Minister Stevie Tee said he saw the spark in NINO for God that day but God revealed to him later that NINO should join the team in order to win souls through music. CitySide has created some partnerships that will benefit each artist and their ministry. Each artist will have a song book for each CD they release underground and regular to cross promote all released material. As the publishing division Steviesha T. Publishing waits on news from a multi millionaire buyer to purchase part of it, they say they will run things according to what thus says the Lord. This week the publishing division just created two partnership/franchises for it's book division which will release the new artist signed after July 21st 2011. Minister Stevie Tee, Marcelle Hinkson and Kristen Johnson will remain with Steviesha T. Publishing. Minister Stevie Tee and NINO state that they see the increase but they have to stay clean and focused to complete the mission God has gave by winning souls through flooding the streets with Christian Rap and Gospel music. Well being strategic is a good way to keep music out there in this time since major labels are closing their doors, look like RCA should of been more strategic and so many jobs in the industry wouldn't been lost. Right now we should all pray that businesses nationwide reach to God for wisdom so we can truley love our neighbors by helping them keep their jobs.
